Community Leader

Daniel thanks his grandparents for instilling appreciation for nature on trips to the Madison Heights Nature Center. And while his grandparents have since passed, their love and lessons endure. They showed Daniel that nature doesn’t just exist at designated centers – as awe-inspiring as those places are – it’s everything; we’re a sentient part of it. Like Daniel’s grandparents, ecosystems have helped him come into his own, foster joy, practice empathy, and find solace. For these reasons he is passionate about giving back to ecosystems and reconnecting ourselves with them. And, besides, Daniel would prefer a sea of native flowers and pollinators over plain lawn any day!

With a firm belief that every person and space is critical to reshaping our world towards inclusivity and ecological regeneration, Daniel is currently training to become a MSU Extension Master Gardener and is a participant in the Vernal Pool Patrol community science program. There’s so much to enjoy and he can’t wait to share in it with you!
